SPORTECH NEARLY DOUBLING ASSEMBLY CAPACITY
Elk River, Minn. March 4, 2021 – Sportech, LLC plans to nearly double its complex assembly facility, located at 10752 168th Cir NW, expanding from 105,000 to 196,000 square feet.
The company will break ground on the new addition in April 2021 and plans to move in by the end of October 2021, according to Chief Executive Officer Jim Glomstad. The original building was purpose-built by Sportech in 2016 with intentionality around expansion.
“We are excited to be growing for our customers, the community, and our employees,” Glomstad said. “This new expansion will help us meet growing customer demand and support our strategic five-year growth vision.”
With generous support from Sherburne County and the City of Elk River, the expansion is expected to create 85 new jobs and provide new opportunities for existing employees. Sportech currently has more than 325 employees and has already started hiring for the expansion.
In addition to more manufacturing space, the new layout includes dedicated employee training and common areas, and additional office space to support growth for years to come. The building expansion will bring Sportech’s total manufacturing footprint to just under 300,000 square feet.
